I actually finished these several months ago...and finally found the time to get the pics up.  The frames are walnut with a bead profile on both the inside and outside edges.  I constructed them using half-lapped miters, using instructions in Woodsmith #143.  The instructions claimed this would create a much stronger joint...and they were right.  These frames are rock-solid. I finished them with an oil finish, applied as directed by John's shop.
